Today I’ll show you how to make a wriggly worm puppet that will delight your kids. It’s a really easy craft to make and you probably already have what you need lying around the house.
But if you don’t you can always just improvise, with what you have. Although I’m using heavy construction card (160 GSM) to ensure the humps stay in place when the wriggly worm is moving.
So go ahead, follow the instructions and make a few wriggly worm puppets yourself.
How to Make a Wriggly Worm Puppet
First, let’s get everything ready so you can leave the little ones to get busy and avoid all those interruptions.
Skill Level – Easy
Time Required – 15 minutes
What you will need
- Colored construction card [BUY]
- Wooden skewers
- Sticky tape
First, cut a strip of construction card 2in wide and make your first fold 2 1/2in in.
Continue to concertina fold the construction card every 1 inch by turn the card over for each fold.
Now round off the head an tail with your scissors.
Now draw on your face. You can use anything for your face. In the example below, we punched out a couple of circles for the eyes and used our black marker for the mouth and nose.
Once you are happy with your face turn your worm over and tape on the wooden skewers at each end.
Now you have your wriggly worm puppet ready to play with. Why not make a couple and have a puppet show?
